Introduction: JoLynn

Hi…my name is JoLynn, formerly known as Jo Yung Ok. I was found by a passer by around 8:30 am in asubway station (Taegu City, Korea). I was taken to a police station and then to White Lily Orphanage. I was adopted by Caucasian parents and have one sister (8 years older). I am the only adopted child in my family. I grew up in a small town in Northern California, which was predominantly Caucasian.

I currently live in Salt Lake City (Utah) & recently conducted a search for my biological parents. I am grateful to Juli for this opportunity to share my experiences from an adoptees perspective & hope to create an open dialog about transracial adoption.

About me…I’m a working single mom, starting graduate school in the fall, active in minority issues within my community, taking a cooking class this summer, enjoy volunteering, working out & buying shoes! I also blog at: J & K’s Adventures

  • How do you know that what you say about your story is true about being founded by a passer? Is that what they told you or do you have evidence?

  • It was in my file from the Orphanage, which I requested from Holt. My file includes details about how long I stayed at the police station, where they took me etc.
